Here's the only downside: The picture illustrating the violin is plain wrong! In reality, It doesn't have that dark wood burst, it just looks like an ordinary light wood violin. If it weren't for the fact that I expected a different finish, I'd rate it five stars.

This Roth & Junius is a good bargain for learning to play. It's manufactured by HORA Reghin, which explains the good quality/price ratio, it comes with a light but sturdy case/backpack and the starter maintenance utensils. The violin itself is beautiful and good quality. The finishes are not perfect - not all the joints are smooth, the initial string winding is not the 'best' (just a bit of messing with them there and I'm problem free now), but the violin manages to stay in tune reasonably well and it is very easy to play. I say this one stands out among the starter or 'for education' violin deals around here, so definitely get it if you're in for looking into violin but you haven't figured out yet what you need.
