I have an iLO4 and the issue is I can't find the.bin file that is required to upgrade through the web interface. After doing a vMotion to get all my sessions off one host, I did the upgrade process listed on the HP site where the.scexe is moved to the ESXi host and then the server is put in Tech Support mode and the firmware update is run from there.

It works and does not reboot the entire box which is what I was nervous about. I did also see the firmware on the server was 2 years old so I took the opportunity to upgrade and reboot the box since I had the host in maintenance mode. Hi all, Lets expand on this just a bit for the next release of iLO v2.00. So I was going to go ahead an update ALL my hosts with this newer version. I am currently running v1.5, so I do not have the issue reported in v1.51 release. Looking at the read me file, it says to update the following dependancies.

File

I had not seen this on my last update to v1.5, maybe I did an I ignored it, unless this is something new for this release? First and foremost, do I need these??

I only use iLO for initial config and the odd remote in to console. I suspect these are all installed on a server of choice for iLO management?? Dependencies listed are: 1) HPQLOCFG 1.2 2) HP Lights Out Scripting Sample 4.4 bundle 3) HPONCFG 4.4.0.0 4) LOCFG.PL 4.40 (Included with Scripting Sample) 5) HPLOMIG 4.40 (Upgrade HPLOMIG before installing this version of iLO 4) The other issue is, even if I was to install these, going to the HP site and HP decides to use these acronyms it doesn't help when the product is NOT identified the same way on the Download page. I had to click on every single link on the page to try and figure out what was what. Item 1= Lights-Out Configuration Utility Item 2 & 4= Lights-Out XML Scripting Sample for Windows Item 3= Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility Item 5= I have no idea what this is or where the download is.
